Walmart Brothel

I hate reading posts where people complain about self checkout in stores, like Walmart. I love self checkout. We only go to full service checkouts when we have a large cart full of items that we want the checker to bag up. Otherwise it’s in-and-out, no human interaction needed.

People say that the self checkouts are taking people’s jobs. Well, if employment is the goal here then Walmart should do away with self checkouts, of course. They should also limit the number of items that someone can purchase at one time. If you can only buy 10 items, then leave, and have to come back in to buy another 10 items, then think of all the extra checkers they will have to hire to deal with these customers continually coming back in.

When the checkers are not busy, Walmart requires them to leave their spot and come to the front of the checkout line, to signal to customers that they are ready to check. One time I saw three checkers standing around, waiting for customers. It looked like a Walmart brothel. “Let’s see, which checker do I want to be with today? hmmm….I’ll pick…..you”, and then you have to decide which lane/checker to use.

And then I leave the store. Of course I have a chauffeur drive me home, because I don’t want to take his job away by driving myself.
